Teachers and librarians share a portion of their job description with parents — the combination of rewarding/thankless, free time/pressure time, crazy hours/endless time, teachable moments/frustrating lacks of connection. I love to meet with children and see the energy that comes off them when their imaginations get to work and envy teachers those moments. But I know that teachers and librarians face a myriad of challenges (and don’t envy you that). My hat goes off to all of you.
